Sabih Khan, a business executive of Indian descent, has been appointed as the new COO of Apple, replacing Jeff Williams.
Khan, who has been with Apple for 30 years, is currently the senior vice president of operations and will take on his new position later this month.
Apple CEO Tim Cook commended Khan for his contributions to Apple's supply chain, manufacturing technologies, US production, and environmental sustainability efforts.
Khan was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, and has a background in mechanical engineering and economics. He joined Apple's procurement team in 1995 after working at GE Plastics.
