Food and beverage inflation is projected to ease to 0.24% in June from 1.5% in May, despite some sequential increase in vegetable prices, particularly tomatoes.
Prices of cereals and edible oils are likely to remain subdued, supported by a good harvest and reduction in customs duty for edible oil, while pulses prices may continue to ease sequentially.
Core CPI is expected to remain largely stable at 4.21% in June, with energy prices remaining elevated partly due to the Israel-Iran conflict, but inflationary pressure is still on the downside overall.
