Two Londoners have been sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison for swindling over $2 million in a fake crypto scheme from at least 65 victims.
The scammers cold-called investors, lured them with promises of high returns on digital assets, and funneled the money into their accounts, leaving victims empty-handed.
The fraudsters targeted individuals by claiming they could double or triple their money within months, but no actual crypto trades occurred, and funds were redirected to shell firms.
The case serves as a warning to potential investors to be cautious of unrealistic promises, verify investment opportunities, and avoid falling for scams, as regulators increase scrutiny over crypto-related frauds.
