Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) petitions President of India over concerns with the implementation of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) under NEP 2020, citing academic, infrastructural, and policy gaps.
Nearly 2,000 faculty members have endorsed the petition, expressing worries about inadequate manpower and funding for infrastructure expansion to accommodate increased student intake.
DUTA emphasizes the need to withdraw Draft UGC Regulations 2025 in the absence of the Pay Review Committee report, demanding redressal of service-related concerns and special assistance to urgently upgrade college facilities.
The association highlights issues like overcrowded classrooms, delays in the academic calendar, and opposition to platforms like SWAYAM and MOOCs for earning academic credits, warning that ill-planned implementation could compromise the goals of NEP 2020.
