Portuguese energy company EDP will test the construction of its first photovoltaic solar park in real-life, large-scale installation conditions in Spain using its Hyperflex automation technology.
The pilot project in Peñaflor will utilize Comau's Hyperflex mobile factory, which includes an automatic assembly station and a rover to transport and position the pre-assembled photovoltaic structure in its final location.
The Hyperflex mobile factory enables automatic installation of solar trackers and can accommodate different types of trackers and panels, providing flexibility for energy providers.
EDP aims to achieve greater efficiency and a 50% reduction in assembly time for the solar panel structure through the use of automation, while also improving safety in the workplace.
