EDP tests a pilot project in Spain to automate the construction of PV plants
- Portuguese energy company EDP will test the construction of its first photovoltaic solar park in real-life, large-scale installation conditions in Spain using its Hyperflex automation technology.
- The pilot project in Peñaflor will utilize Comau's Hyperflex mobile factory, which includes an automatic assembly station and a rover to transport and position the pre-assembled photovoltaic structure in its final location.
- The Hyperflex mobile factory enables automatic installation of solar trackers and can accommodate different types of trackers and panels, providing flexibility for energy providers.
- EDP aims to achieve greater efficiency and a 50% reduction in assembly time for the solar panel structure through the use of automation, while also improving safety in the workplace.
