Swiss blockchain firm Fedrok AG is awarding a $20,000 developer grant to African developers to create a micro-transaction platform for Chad and Niger, aiming to support financially excluded populations in these countries.
The grant focuses on funding a peer-to-peer payment system designed by African teams to address underfunding issues faced by African developer talent due to infrastructure gaps, capital scarcity, and global bias.
The MVP will be deployed on Fedrok’s EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain with a unique Proof of Green (PoG) consensus mechanism, promoting blockchain activity powered by verifiable renewable energy.
Fedrok's larger mission is to build climate-aligned blockchain infrastructure promoting economic inclusion, with initiatives like the T4G Pay project in Papua New Guinea already in progress, serving as examples of their approach to real-world solutions.
