Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned buyers of Indian equities after a five-day selling streak, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) also became net buyers.
The net buying by FPIs and DIIs comes ahead of US President Trump's announcement of trade deals with various countries, starting from 9:30 pm (IST) onwards.
India's benchmark indices ended flat on Monday in anticipation of Trump's tariff announcements, with the NSE Nifty 50 closing at 25,461.30 and the BSE Sensex at 83,422.50.
In July so far, FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 729 crore, continuing from the selling trend of Rs 14,590 crore in the previous month. In 2025, FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 78,630 crore.
