Takashi Tashiro, the new CEO of Tokyo-based energy company Remixpoint, will receive his full salary in Bitcoin as part of efforts to align with shareholders.
Remixpoint will calculate Tashiro's salary and taxes in Japanese yen, purchase an equivalent amount in Bitcoin, and transfer it to a wallet specified by the CEO.
The move is part of Remixpoint's shift towards a shareholder-oriented management and a focus on treasury management with Bitcoin at the core of its financial strategy.
Remixpoint, even before Tashiro's appointment, had been acquiring various cryptocurrencies, with holdings including Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin, valued at over $116 million.
