Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America is recalling 21,000 vehicles in the United States due to torn passenger airbags that may not adequately protect occupants in a crash.
The recall is in response to the risk of injury posed by torn airbags not providing sufficient protection in case of a crash, as highlighted by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
JLR is set to replace the passenger air bag module free of charge, with owner notification letters expected to be mailed out on August 29, 2025.
The recall follows JLR's 12.2% drop in North America sales in the April-June quarter, influenced by tariff duties and sales challenges, impacting the luxury carmaker's overall sales.
