<ul><li>Toyota has announced the new Urban Cruiser EV, an electric model that will be built alongside the Suzuki e Vitara on Toyota and Suzuki's Indian production line.</li><li>The Urban Cruiser will be offered with two battery options: a 49-kWh pack with a single electric motor producing 142 horsepower, and a 61-kWh pack with either a single or dual-motor setup producing 181 horsepower.</li><li>Although not scheduled for a North American release, the Urban Cruiser could be popular with its crossover design and decent powertrain specifications.</li><li>The model will include a heat pump and a user-initiated preheat feature to improve battery charging times in cooler weather.</li></ul>
