The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Coimbatore City Police arrested key accused Sadiq 29 years after the 1998 Coimbatore blast, in Karnataka.
Sadiq, who had been absconding for 29 years and used multiple aliases, is also accused in several communal murder cases across Tamil Nadu.
The arrest of Sadiq marks the third successful apprehension of long-absconding terror-related accused by the ATS and Coimbatore City Police.
Chief Minister M K Stalin praised the ATS for their efforts in maintaining internal security in Tamil Nadu and highlighted the successful arrests made by the ATS in recent weeks.
