Apple has launched the 2024 16-inch MacBook Pro, which packs a powerful punch into a compact package.
The device’s technical specifications are impressive. The laptop is powered by the M4 chip, which enables 14-core CPU with 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores.
It also has a 20-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine with 273Gb/s memory bandwidth, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, media engine and hardware-accelerated H.264.
It includes a 2-inch (diagonal) Liquid Retina XDR display, with ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz and 3456-by-2234 native resolution at 254 pixels per inch.
The device offers between 36GB and 128GB of RAM, and 512GB to 8TB of storage.
All models also have an SDXC card slot, HDMI port, 5mm headphone jack, MagSafe 3 port and three Thunderbolt 5 ports.
The laptop runs on a 100-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery, capable of lasting up to 24 hours when streaming video or up to 17 hours wireless web use.
It weighs 4.7 pounds and comes with a backlit Magic Keyboard and Force Touch trackpad, as well as a 12MP camera and high-quality audio support.
Optionally, users can configure the device with more advanced features, such as a max with 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU.
