Acura’s partnership with General Motors has enabled them to enter the EV market with the launch of the all-electric ZDX, which shares GM’s Ultium EV platform with the Cadillac Lyriq.
The ZDX Type S offers all-wheel-drive through its dual motors, with an output of 499 horsepower and 544 lb-ft of torque.
A height-adjustable air suspension system smooths out road imperfections, with yellow-painted 6-piston Brembo brake callipers to contend with its weight of 6052 pounds.
The interior of the car, which could use some work to make it more upscale and luxurious, includes heated and ventilated 16-way power-adjustable front seats, ambient color-selectable LED interior lighting, and a large panoramic sunroof.
In keeping with today’s technology, the ZDX Type S offers an 11-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless (or USB-connected) Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The ZDX Type S offers visibility out back through a digital review mirror camera system,
The ZDX Type S costs $75,450 (including a $1,350 destination charge), which is more than its closest competitor, the Cadillac Lyriq Sport 3 ($73K with $7,500 EV bonus cash offering).
