Audi’s first model built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) is the Q6 e-Tron, which is dedicated to Audi’s even-numbered models like the Q6. Odd-numbered models like the Q5 are built on the corresponding Premium Platform Combustion (PPC).
The 2025 Audi Q6 and the sportier SQ6 boast a range of up to 321 miles and 275 miles, respectively. Upcoming A6 sportback sedan will even have a range of up to 390 miles.
The Q6 uses an improved motor with hairpin wiring and a direct oil-spray cooling system in the motor’s stator, which creates a rotating magnetic field to enhance performance.
It also contains a 100 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack with a total gross capacity of 100 kWh. Plugged into a DC fast charger, the Q6 can be charged 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes.
Audi has fully embraced an 800-volt architecture, which enables it to reduce weight and complexity while increasing range.
The Q6 uses an electric motor built in a production plant in Hungary that has produced over 500,000 electric motors since 2018.
The motor's oil spray cooling system helps reduce reliance on rare Earth materials and increases energy density by up to 60%.
The advanced B-mode in the system’s one-pedal system feature allows drivers to determine how much they want to conserve energy.
Audi has updated its in-cabin technology which was already considered to be at the top of its game in regard to infotainment systems.
The Q6's new curve works around the customers' feedback, who want a larger burst of charging in a shorter amount of time.
