Fiat is reengineering the Fiat 500e electric model to accept a petrol engine, creating the 500 Hybrid.
Pre-production assembly of the combustion-powered 500 Hybrid has begun, with full-scale production targeted for November 2025.
The 500 Hybrid retains a similar appearance to the electric 500e, with changes like a larger front opening for air intake and a fuel filler replacing the charging port.
The 500 Hybrid features a manual gearbox and is expected to use a 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine with mild electric assistance.
