Kia India plans to launch its first electric vehicle, the Carens EV, locally produced, around mid-2025, signaling its entry into India's mass-market electric vehicle segment.
The upcoming Carens Clavis Electric is a 6-7 seater electric vehicle priced below ₹22 lakh, intending to provide an economical and spacious option for families interested in electric mobility.
If equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the Carens Clavis Electric could offer a good balance of range, safety, and affordability, potentially selling 1,000 to 1,500 units monthly with lifetime warranty.
The Carens Clavis Electric is expected to offer premium features like a dual-screen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and advanced safety features including multiple airbags, ESC, and ADAS, transforming the mass-market EV segment in India.
