The Toyota LandCruiser Prado and Kia EV5 have both received five-star safety ratings from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
The Prado achieved good protection in the frontal offset head-on crash test, but received a marginal chest result and only adequate protection for the driver's lower leg. It scored maximum points for child occupant protection and performed well in active collision avoidance tests.
The EV5 scored well in vehicle-to-vehicle compatibility and side impact tests. It also received maximum points for child occupant protection and performed well in safety assist systems tests.
On the other hand, the Suzuki Swift received a one-star safety rating in Australia despite being rated three stars by Euro NCAP due to differences in safety specification between the markets.
