3 underrated Netflix movies you should watch this weekend (October 25-27)
- If you’re in the mood for movies that are a bit underrated and wacky, then any of these three selections will make you happy.
- The Quick and the Dead (1995) is a Western movie directed by Sam Raimi and starring Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
- The Lady, played by Stone, is a gunslinger who enters a quick-draw contest in Redemption to get to the town's corrupt mayor, Herod, played by Hackman.
- Two other competitors, reformed preacher Cort played by Crowe and The Kid played by DiCaprio, also enter the contest.
- Starship Troopers (1997) is a sci-fi movie directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Casper Van Dien.
- The movie is a free adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein’s influential 1959 sci-fi novel.
- It tells the story of Johnny Rico, who works his way through the ranks and defends his home planet against an alien invasion.
- Shadow in the Cloud (2020) is a horror movie set during World War II and directed by Roseanne Liang.
- It stars Chloe Grace Moretz as Maude Garrett, who discovers a gremlin destroying an aircraft she is riding on with an all-male crew on a top secret mission.
- Maude has to fight off the gremlin, flying Japanese planes, and prove herself to her fellow pilots.
