As of November 2024, Malaysia has a total of 3,354 EV chargers - 956 DC and 2,398 AC.
The Malaysia Zero Emission Vehicle Association (MyZEVA) expects to achieve the target of 1,500 DC charging points by mid-2025, six months ahead of the deadline.
However, the overall target of 10,000 charging points is projected to be achieved by Q3 2026 due to slower deployment rates for AC chargers.
By 2030, MyZEVA estimates that there should be more than 40,000 charging points in Malaysia, assuming a steady growth rate of EV adoption.
