Nearly 50,000 state government employees in Madhya Pradesh have not received salaries for the past six months, leading to an investigation.
The Department of Treasury and Accounts in Madhya Pradesh is conducting a probe to verify the authenticity of employee records and to check for any irregularities.
Of the 50,000 affected employees, around 40,000 are regular employees and 10,000 are temporary or contractual employees, with a total pending salary amount estimated at Rs 230 crore.
The investigation aims to determine whether the delay in salary payments is due to administrative lapses or a potential larger fraud within the system, highlighting urgent verification efforts by the government.
