Eight Australian women founders showcased their ideas as part of Australia Sports Innovation Week in Melbourne.
‘Women-Led Design’, presented by the Australian Sports Technologies Network, was attended by founders of apparel, wellness, sporting goods, digital, entertainment, youth sports, health and fitness, data analytics and more.
The objective of the event is to highlight business success, diversity and inclusion within sports tech.
Some notable founders included Suzie Betts of Boob Armour and Saara Jamieson of Cool Beans Underwear.
Boob Armour, is a startup designed to protect and empower females in physical activity, while Cool Beans Underwear is making its entry in sports tech industry to reverse the decline in men’s health.
Maria Baker of Nobody’s Princess also showcased her start-up, that specialises in women’s snow outerwear for all body types.
Kirsty Richardson, the founder of Gravity Fit, a collection of science-based exercise and rehab tools, was also present.
Marie Penny, the Co-founder of Project Flock, promoted her Melbourne-based start-up that created the world’s first ‘bio-motion’ rear bike light.
Other women founders, Natalie Moore of Own Your Health Collective & MenoVest, Michelle Walshe of CoachMate, and CEO of Nola Technologies, Victoria Zorin, also showcased their ventures.
The event aimed to inspire the next generation of women leaders in sportstech.
