Studio Terpeluk successfully renovated the Redwood House in San Francisco, originally designed by Albert Lanier in 1974.
The renovation aimed to respect the home's architectural DNA while enhancing it with contemporary elements, improving spatial layout, and creating a cohesive yet expansive feel.
The renovation featured a material palette that balanced old and new elements, such as reclaimed wood, terrazzo, poured concrete, and honed gray marble, adding texture and contrast.
The exterior redesign by landscape designer Monica Viarengo focused on creating a visual unity with the house through new cladding and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces.
