A Tesla vehicle has autonomously delivered itself to a customer for the first time ever, confirmed by Elon Musk one day ahead of schedule.
The car rolled off the production line at Gigafactory Texas and drove to the customer without any onboard assistance or remote control.
The fully autonomous delivery involved no people in the car or remote operators controlling it on a public highway, reaching speeds of up to 72 miles per hour.
Tesla has recently introduced its Robotaxi in Austin, with plans to potentially have every vehicle self-deliver to customers in the future.
