Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala, has invested $408.5 million in BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).
The fund disclosed owning 8,726,972 shares of IBIT as of March 31, 2025, marking an increase from the previous holding of 8,235,533 shares by the end of 2024.
This investment by Mubadala aligns with the rising popularity of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, with significant inflows seen in May, particularly in BlackRock’s IBIT.
The increased exposure comes amidst discussions between U.S. crypto policy leaders and the UAE, focusing on the future of digital currencies and artificial intelligence.
