The labor market in the U.S. downshifted to a more modest pace of growth in December 2024.In the healthcare sector, more jobs were created than in any other sector in the second half of the year.The private sector added 122,000 jobs in December, with annual pay up 4.6% year over year.Wage growth for people staying with their jobs was the slowest since July 2021, while job openings increased but were 9.3% lower than November 2023.
