Dwarf Fortress, a procedural fantasy sim game, has made significant progress in development after teaming up with Kitfox Games for the Steam release and expanding its team.
A recent update in June addressed a long-standing issue with marksdwarves' behavior, allowing them to refill their ammo and utilize archery more effectively in combat.
The update also introduced ammo customization options, improved archer behavior to use fortifications for protection, and added features like nocking arrows and aiming at specific body parts.
Upcoming updates for Dwarf Fortress include a rework of Fortress mode sieges, Lua scripting updates, and new visuals for the game's Forgotten Beasts, enhancing the complexity and modding capabilities of the game.
