The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will continue with its consumer protection trial against Amazon.com Inc.
The FTC requested a delay of the trial due to alleged staffing and budget concerns, but later retracted the request and confirmed their readiness for the case.
The trial revolves around the FTC's claim that Amazon engaged in deceptive practices by making it difficult for consumers to cancel their Amazon Prime subscriptions.
Separately, the FTC and 17 states are suing Amazon for alleged anticompetitive business tactics in the e-commerce market, with the trial for this case scheduled for 2026.
