The Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the crashed Ahmedabad AI plane has been found, in addition to the earlier recovery of the Flight Data Recorder (FDR).
P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to PM Narendra Modi, confirmed the recovery of the black boxes during an inspection at the crash site.
AAIB is conducting a detailed investigation, with a parallel probe by the US National Transportation Safety Board due to the aircraft being American-made.
Both black boxes' recovery will aid in determining the cause of the crash that resulted in the death of 242 passengers and crew on board and 29 individuals on the ground.
Mishra visited the accident site and the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, where he interacted with the bereaved families and directed authorities to provide full assistance.
He emphasized prioritizing medical care for the injured, maintained commitment to supporting victims' families, and coordinating responses among involved agencies.
Mishra reviewed DNA sampling efforts at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar and stressed the need for swift and accurate identification processes.
His visit was accompanied by PMO officials, indicating the high-level attention and commitment to providing support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
