The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Akasa Air Rs 10 lakh for refusing boarding to seven passengers on a delayed Bengaluru-Pune flight.
The incident occurred on September 6, when the flight was grounded due to damage caused by a foreign object.
The passengers were accommodated on an IndiGo flight to Pune, but Akasa Air failed to provide compensation.
The penalty was imposed for violating civil aviation regulations and the airline has been given 30 days to pay the fine.
