Amazon and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have reached a settlement over allegations of hazardous working conditions in Amazon warehouses.
The settlement includes a dispute resolution process for ergonomics complaints, regular meetings to review injury data, and a penalty of $145,000.
Amazon views the settlement as a recognition of its progress on safety issues, with OSHA vacating nine of its ten primary ergonomic citations against the company.
The settlement requires Amazon to implement effective ergonomics requirements across all covered facilities, with potential enforcement by the Department of Labor.
