Amazon has cut 100 jobs from its Devices & Services unit which oversees the development of products like Kindle, Echo speakers, Alexa, and Zoox self-driving cars.
The cuts come after Microsoft announced layoffs affecting 3 percent of its workforce, the largest since 2023.
Amazon has been reducing jobs over the past years post-Covid, with layoffs in various divisions including Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, and more.
In February 2025, Amazon introduced Alexa+, an enhanced AI assistant with new capabilities available for free to Prime members.
