A group of Amazon shareholders is requesting the company to invest at least 5% of its assets in Bitcoin to protect against inflation and boost shareholder value.
The proposal by the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) aims to diversify the balance sheet and maximize long-term shareholder value.
Bitcoin has gained over 130% this year, outperforming major assets like gold, corporate bonds, and the S&P 500.
Amazon's board of directors will decide whether to include the proposal in the company's annual shareholders meeting in April 2025.
