Amazon plans to invest $10 billion in new data centers in North Carolina to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The company has allocated up to $100 billion this year for capital expenditures, primarily focusing on AI projects to compete with other tech giants like Microsoft and Google.
The investment in North Carolina is expected to create around 500 jobs in the state, supporting the growth of AI capabilities from Amazon Web Services data centers.
In addition to its investments in North Carolina, Amazon has also announced plans to spend at least $11 billion in Georgia for building new data centers to meet the increasing demand for cloud computing and AI services.
