Amazon is investing over $4 billion in Chile to build an AWS infrastructure region by 2026, aimed at supporting new and existing AWS customers.
The investment includes establishing three availability zones in Chile, hiring local talent, and utilizing advanced AWS technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The new AWS region in Chile will cater to the growing demand for cloud services in Latin America, benefiting organizations like LATAM Airlines, Agrosuper, and Andrés Bello National University.
This investment follows Amazon's previous efforts in Chile, such as launching AWS Outposts and providing private connectivity and AWS Local Zones for customers in the country.
