The National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) has proposed that Amazon explore Bitcoin’s potential as part of its financial reserve strategy.
The NCPPR recommends that Amazon allocate at least 5% of its $585 billion in total assets to Bitcoin, to protect shareholder value from inflationary erosion.
The proposal highlights the stellar growth of BTC, with the cryptocurrency gaining 131% in price over the past year and over 1,200% over five years.
Inclusion of Bitcoin in Amazon's financial reserves could be a part of the growing institutional adoption trend, and may encourage other global companies to reconsider their treasury strategies.
