Anam, a startup founded in October 2023, has raised $9 million in seed funding led by Redpoint Ventures and SV Angel to build digital humans capable of lifelike conversations.
Co-founders Ben Carr and Caoimhe Murphy, who previously worked together at Synthesia, are at the helm of Anam, a company with 2,000 clients across various industries and tracking $5 million in annual revenue.
Anam faces competition in the AI-driven avatar space but distinguishes itself by generating every pixel of its avatars for expressive and natural conversations, including features like One-Shot, which can create an AI persona from a photo.
The company, focused on bridging human-machine interactions, has 16 employees and monetizes its service by charging per minute of conversation. Investors see potential in Anam's technology, considering it the next frontier in human-machine interfaces.
