Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reduced alcohol prices resulting in collective monthly savings of nearly Rs 116 crore for liquor consumers in the state.
Naidu instructed officials to ensure transparency in the liquor policy, maintain affordable prices, and prevent the sale of non-duty paid, illicit, or harmful liquor.
The new liquor policy boosted state revenue, eliminated fake brands, and contributed to improved public health by preventing addiction among economically weaker families.
Naidu also ordered measures like banning unlicensed liquor outlets, enforcing digital payments, and introducing permit rooms to prevent misuse and boost tourism in Andhra Pradesh.
