Developer Wargaming has decided to sunset the free-to-play mech shooter game Steel Hunters just three months after its early access launch in April.
The decision to end development was made due to sustainability concerns, despite the game showing potential with a more tactical approach to the genre.
Steel Hunters saw a decline in player numbers from an initial peak concurrent player count of 4,479 at launch to only a few hundred recently, leading to the closure.
The game's servers will stay online until October 8, all mechs will be unlocked for players, and support for custom games and a goodbye tournament are being arranged.
