Apple is suing a former employee, Di Liu, for allegedly stealing confidential Vision Pro headset research and other proprietary information before joining Snap's product design team.
Liu is accused of downloading thousands of documents from Apple's internal systems, saving them to his personal cloud storage account, and concealing the file movement by deleting files from his work laptop.
Apple alleges that Liu's actions were deliberate, preventing Apple from immediately revoking his access to internal systems which allowed him to copy a 'massive volume' of proprietary information.
Apple is pursuing unspecified financial damages from Liu, aiming to force him to return the stolen documents, and claims that the overlap between the information Liu took and Snap's AR Spectacles products suggests his intention to use Apple's proprietary information at Snap.
