Apple's manager for artificial intelligence (AI) models, Ruoming Pang, is reportedly leaving for Meta, according to Bloomberg News.
Pang joined Apple from Google in 2021 and is the latest high-profile hire for Meta's new superintelligence group.
Meta is on a larger hiring spree for AI talent, including offering Pang a significant yearly package, part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's recruitment strategy. They have also hired researchers from OpenAI and Anthropic.
This departure marks a setback for Apple's AI project as Meta continues to attract top AI talent with generous compensation packages, including substantial signing bonuses and yearly compensation.
