Jeff Williams, Apple's COO, will be stepping down later this month and will be succeeded by Sabih Khan, current Senior Vice President of Operations.
Williams has overseen worldwide operations, customer service, led Apple Watch engineering, and health initiatives since his promotion to COO in 2015.
Williams will stay at Apple in a transition role until the end of the year, continuing to report to CEO Tim Cook before retiring.
Sabih Khan will gradually transition into the COO role, having worked at Apple for over 30 years and being praised by Cook for his strategic leadership in supply chain and environmental sustainability.
