Apple has approved Spotify's U.S. app update allowing users access to pricing info and external payment links following a court order to stop charging commissions on in-app purchases.
The approval allows Spotify to display pricing info, external payment links, and promotional offers in the app providing consumers more control and transparency.
The updated Spotify app version 9.0.40 is now rolling out on the App Store, making Spotify one of the first major apps to enable purchases outside the app.
Apple, although disagrees with the court's decision, stated that it will comply after being ordered to allow developers to direct customers to external websites for transactions.
