Apple tested a blood sugar tracking app this year to help people with prediabetes manage their food intake and make lifestyle changes.
The app was tested on select employees, and although it won't be released, the technology may be integrated into future health products, including a noninvasive glucose tracker.
The employees validated their prediabetic condition with a blood test and actively monitored their blood sugar levels in response to food intake.
The aim of the system is to educate users on how certain foods affect blood sugar levels, potentially helping to prevent diabetes.
