The tech giant has reassured Indian government officials of its commitment to India as a major manufacturing base and plans to continue expanding manufacturing in the country.
Currently, 15% of the global iPhone output is made in India, with major suppliers actively assembling iPhones in the country.
Despite Trump's remarks, India's electronics industry remains confident, and Apple CEO Tim Cook's company continues to sell iPhones from India globally while focusing on US production as well.
