Apple is fixing the dedicated Mute key on Mac keyboards to match the onscreen indicator when volume is muted.The Mute key on the new M4 MacBook Air now uses a speaker outline with a diagonal line through it to match the onscreen indicator.This change will likely be rolled out to all future Mac and iPad Keyboards.The Mute key was added to Mac keyboards with the 1999 release of the Lombard version of the PowerBook G3 laptop.
