Apple is venturing into neurotechnology by partnering with Syncron, a startup behind the Stentrode neuroimplant, aiming to create mind-controlled devices for operating Apple products using brain signals.
Syncron's Stentrode implant offers a minimally invasive approach by being inserted through the jugular vein, enabling users to interact with Apple devices through their thoughts.
The technology is currently undergoing clinical testing on patients with motor impairments, with one participant already using Apple Vision Pro solely through thought commands.
Apple plans for broader integration of neurotechnology into its product lineup, initially supporting third-party implants and envisioning a future with its own hardware developments in this area.
