Apple released new iPads this year including the seventh generation iPad Mini named A17 Pro, and the latest iPad Pro and Air models.
Apple has a different naming convention for iPads, so it might be difficult to choose the best one. The best way is to browse the models starting from the latest one.
Apple currently sells six different tablets including the iPad Mini, iPad Pro 13-inch and 11-inch, iPad Air 13-inch and 11-inch, and the iPad 10th generation.
The latest seventh-generation iPad Mini (A17 Pro) was launched with prices starting at $499, and it comes with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display similar to the previous generation, as well as an A17 Pro processor from iPhone 15 Pro models.
The latest iPad Pro 11-inch and 13-inch models were launched in May 2024 with major updates such as the new M4 processor, a Tandem OLED design, 5G connectivity option, and a new Magic Keyboard.
The latest iPad Air models were also launched in May 2024, including the 11-inch and 13-inch models. iPad Air models have been upgraded to the newer M2 processor that can run intensive tasks smoothly and with a new landscape front-facing camera position.
Apple launched its latest iPad, the 10th generation, priced at $349, which includes an A14 Bionic chip that can handle basic to moderately intensive tasks. It supports the Apple Pencil (USB-C) and first-generation Apple Pencil.
To distinguish between iPad models and generations, a model number is specified, which you can find through the Settings app in your iPad or etched on the back of the device.
These latest iPads provide different features and specifications, so it's difficult to decide which iPad to choose according to your needs.
