Apple TV+ is close to securing a new streaming package from Major League Baseball, likely acquiring a Sunday night package previously held by ESPN.
Apple, which already airs Friday Night Baseball, may outbid NBC for the Sunday night game rights, with a potential deal aimed at exceeding NBC's offer.
Apple currently pays $85 million per season for Friday Night Baseball, a deal announced in 2022 and set to run through 2028.
Any potential agreement with MLB is expected to be for a three-year duration, positioning MLB to have all its national rights available by 2028, coinciding with the end of deals with Fox Sports and TNT Sports.
