After receiving a €500 million fine in April, the European Commission states that Apple is still not in compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
The DMA requires Apple to allow developers to inform customers about sales or offers outside the App Store, which the commission found Apple was hindering with anti-competitive policies like 'anti-steering' rules.
One specific issue highlighted was Apple's 'scare sheets,' warning users about navigating to external payment links and stating that Apple is not responsible for the privacy or security of purchases made on the web.
Apple faces potential hefty penalty payments if it does not bring its policies into compliance with the EU by the deadline of June 22, and the company plans to appeal the decision by then.
