Apple is expanding its innovative technology for updating devices in sealed boxes from iPhones to Macs.
The system, which uses MagSafe and wireless technologies, can power up the device without opening the packaging, download and install software, and then power the device back down.
9to5Mac suggests that macOS Tahoe beta 3 is laying the groundwork for this sealed-device update system on Macs.
While Macs currently lack NFC technology used for updating iPhones in the box, Apple may introduce NFC to future Macs or utilize a different method for updating sealed Mac computers.
